Common questions
Are rummy apps legal in India?
Free rummy is legal. Rummy for money has been banned since 1 May 2026 under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, whether the game is called skill or chance. The ban covers apps run from outside India too. Read the full guide.
What happens when I tap Download?
You first see a short notice about the law: real-money games have been banned in India since 1 May 2026. Most apps listed here are sold as APK files outside Google Play, so check the app's credibility score and safety checks before anything reaches your phone.
What does the credibility score mean?
It's a score out of 10 built from 5 checks, such as Google Play, malware scans and the download source. Each passed check raises the score and each warning lowers it, while smaller signals, such as how long the app has been around and how its bonus compares with its withdrawal limit, separate apps with the same results. A failed check, such as a malware flag, keeps the score under 4. A high score means no red flags so far. It doesn't prove an app pays out. How we rate apps.
Can I withdraw the sign-up bonus straight away?
Usually not. The figures on our pages are the amounts most sources agree on, but almost every app in this category ties its sign-up bonus to wagering, and often to a first deposit. Until you've played through the requirement, the bonus stays in your balance as playing credit.
Is Yono Rummy connected to SBI YONO?
No. The Yono games share a name with SBI's YONO banking app but have no known link to State Bank of India. Some sites even mix up the two apps' details. SBI's app is on Google Play and doesn't offer games.
How can I spot a fake rummy app?
- It's only available as an APK, not on Google Play.
- The same app keeps moving to new website addresses.
- It asks for a deposit, a “tax” or a “verification fee” before you can withdraw.
- Support is only on Telegram or WhatsApp, with no company name.
- It promises a bonus far larger than any deposit.
My withdrawal never arrived. What can I do?
